International Project Opportunities
For the past two years we've partnered with other Rotary Clubs to fund international projects. In our first year, we provided funds for a school in Ecuador to buy books and supplies. Last year we teamed up with a club in California to fund sewing machines and equipment to a vocational school in Ecuador.
This year we have the opportunity to select one of several projects that have been brought to us. Here's a recap:
1. Quito, Ecuador - Computers for school for mentally handicapped children
2. Bahia de Carquez, Ecuador - Potable Water Project
3. Cuidad de Dios, Ecuador - Potable Water project
4. National Thalassaenia Center, Sri Lanka - Transfusion Equipment
5. National Thalazzaenia Center, Sri Lank - Screening Equipment
6. Udon Thani, Thailand - Dental Clinic
7. Bahia de Carquez, Ecuador - Computers for school
8. Rumbukoluwa, Sri Lanka - Improvements to village school
The details of these projects are posted in the "Club Documents" section of our home page. Bob asks that we all give these projects our thoughtful consideration so we can decide which one we want to support. Until the end of the year, the money we pay for "happy dollars" will go toward these projects. In addition, funds raised will be matched by the District and the Rotary Foundation.
