Dictionary Project Nears Completion

The Dictionary Project is a national effort, started in 1992, to put a dictionary in the hands of all 3rd graders in the USA. Emmett Rotary is one of many civic groups in Idaho participating. In 2009, 21,418 dictionaries were distributed in Idaho, representing about 67% of the 3rd graders. 2.5 million books were distributed nationwide! We are almost finished distributing 209 books to schools in our area, which is Gem County and Garden Valley. This is the 4th year our club has participated in the project. Funds for the books comes from the District 5400 "District Simplified Grant" program. For more information about the national program, click on the link on our home page.
