Thanks to Carlas Brown for arranging our program last week. Ron Bjorkman introduced Mary Hughes, Financial Institutions Bureau Chief at the Idaho Department of Finance. Mary is an attorney with a very impressive resume....including that she lived in Emmett for a while years ago! She admitted that in these trying economic times, her visit to our Rotary Club was one of the "happiest" meetings she'd been to in a long time!  She explained that compared to other states, Idaho financial institutions are in good shape - that they've stuck to the basics of conservatvce, sound underwriting. Her conclusion: "There is no place safer for your money than in an insured institution in Idaho." (Now I feel much better)
