Last week we had an interesting presentation by Bruce Kovash and Mike Briggs from Horizon Home Health. They demonstrated this very cool tele-monitoring machine. Supplied at no charge to their home bound patients, it monitors BP, O2 sats, temp, blood, EKG, weight and transmits the data to the nurse at the home office via satellite. The unit even talks to the patient in 9 languages! The unit reduces re-hospitalizations by 70%.
