Bill Knickrehm on Emmett High School

Dave Obermeyer introduced last weeks' speaker, Dr. Bill Knickrehm, new principal at Emmett High School. Bill has an interesting background! Starting his career as an attorney, he's worked as a university professor and in many educational settings, including public schools and special schools for troubled, at-risk kids. Most recently, he was principal at Century High School in Pocatello.

Bill is passionate about teaching kids! And in his first few weeks in Emmett he's been impressed at the friendliness of the community. He thinks are kids are great - they're polite, responsive and seem to reflect the values of their parents.

As for the school bond which was defeated last week, now the community will have to deal with the aftermath. How do we deal with the budget deficit? Since there's no way to increase income, something will have to go. What will it be? Sports? Electives? Staff? The saga continues.....
