Terry Jones Receives Paul Harris +4 Designation

Past District 5400 Governor Bret Vaterlass pinned our own Emmett Past District Governor Terry Jones with his Paul Harris +4 designation at a recent meeting of the Rotary club of Emmett.  Paul Harris was the founder of Rotary International and members earn these recognitions each time they donate a total of $1000 to the Rotary International Foundation.  These donations can be made in various ways.  In June, 2018, every member of the Emmett Club received their first Paul Harris pin and several are on their way to earning their 2nd pin.  Jim Waters, Emmett, received his 3rd pin a few weeks ago.

The mission of The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.  More than 90 percent of donations go directly to supporting our service projects around the world.

Our 35,000 clubs carry out sustainable service projects that support our six causes. With donations we have wiped out 99.9 percent of all polio cases.  Donations are used to  train future peacemakers, supports clean water, and strengthens local economies. Just one donation can save a life. A child can be protected from polio with as little as 60 cents. Our partners make your donation go even further. For every $1 Rotary commits to polio eradication, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has committed $2.

Congratulations, Terry!   If YOU are interested to learn more about the Paul Harris Rotary Foundation check us out at www.rotary.or or join us at a meeting of the club.  You won't be sorry you made the effort!
