Four students who attend PRTA (Payette River Technical Academy), in addition to their studies at Emmett High School, spoke at the October 30 Rotary meeting with their instructor, Patti O'Malli.  The students (from left to right) are Zach Jenkes, Tatum Inman, Cesar Leon and Noelle King.  They described a very intense learning opportunity at PRTA,a High School of Business, designed to prepare students for college business programs.  It also provides opportunities for them to hear from and talk with local business professionals.  Local business executives and college faculty team up with teachers, counselors and administrators in support of this life -changing course of study.  There are six courses of study to complete and to graduate from the course:  Principles of Business, Business Economics, Principles of Marketing, Principles of Finance, Principles of Management and Business Strategies.
These four showed great enthusiasm for the program, even when asked how it affected their study time for other high school courses! They are very knowledgeable and very well spoken.  We are very fortunate to have such a program in Emmett.
