Just one month ago over 300 people entered the "big tent" in the City Park for the annual Rotary Youth Benefit Dinner & Auction!  It was a delightful evening, filled with surprises and lots of laughter.  Our special thanks go to Catering by Candi for the delicious meal; to our auctioneers for donating their time and talent - Eddie Heath, Brian Hanson, Kelly Trout and Josh; to Lisa Vetter and her committee for the beautiful decorations; to all our VIP/Corporate Sponsors; to the merchants of Emmett....we really couldn't have done it without you!

Our sincere thanks goes to those who attended and supported our youth - even if you didn't buy anything, you were there!  We did sell out just days before the event and were not able to sell any tickets at the door.  Please watch and plan to get your ticket early for next year's event which will be held on May 6, 2017.   The committee will begin planning meetings soon to evaluate and plan for 2017!  If you have suggestions, we'd love to hear them.  You can send them to klrainbow49@gmail.com and they will get to the committee.

Financially, the history books were re-written!  Our net surpassed $75,000.00!  We plan to finalize the books shortly but it looks like we actually profited as much this year as we netted last year.  Amazing!  The youth groups will be receiving their recognition and checks on June 17 at 7 pm at the band shell in City Park.  This will kick off the evening events for the Cherry Festival that day.  Come out and watch the excitement and enthusiasm our youth have brought to the event.  These are OUR KIDS and we are so proud of them!

The flamingos have returned to their homes; the Superheros are out making movies now and things have calmed down around our valley.  THANK YOU for your support, your encouragement and most of all your love for the youth of Gem County!  If you would like to become more involved with this event, join us at our Rotary meetings the 1st, 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month at noon at Idaho Pizza.  Can't make a noon meeting?  The 3rd Thursday we meet at 6:00 pm at Idaho Pizza for a brief dinner time together and then go, as a group, to do a service project around town.  You are more than welcome to come check us out at either meeting!
